Verse of the month:

2 Timothy 4:7
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day - and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

Hi and thanks for visiting our web site

This site is designed for members of Westwoodhill Praise Team as a resource to view future plans and view what the programme will be for coming events and also to encourage each member as we strive to lead our Church in meaningful worship. Our team is made up of musicians and technical people including sound, PC and recording experts and we are all there to help each other as we aim to serve God using the gifts he has given us.

Our aim within our Church is to serve God and serve each other and also to pray regularly for each team member as they perform their tasks as God has asked them. Please take time to view our site and may God Bless you as you serve him in your local Church and community.

Thought for the month - by Bryan Sturrock, Technical Team

Bryan Sturrock With the various countries throughout the world all competing in the activities at the Olympics, which have now finished, it came to me that we are all in a race ourselves, with our finishing line being Jesus.
We represent God in our daily lives whether it be at work, sports with friends or in church. We as a Praise Band and as a church do not need to stand on a podium wearing a gold, silver or bronze medal around our necks to show of our achievements. God is our medal and we wear that every day on our hearts. We know that our race will be finished when our Lord Jesus returns, but unlike the Olympics where there can only be one winner in each final, we will ALL be winners as we cross that finish line.

“I have fought the good fight, ..." (see verse opposite)

With Hope 08 and other activities happening within the church let us work together and praise our wonderful Saviour through our music as a team. One of my favourite songs is I stand Amazed in the Presence (How Marvellous). This song just shows us how much our Lord loves us and how unconditional that love is.

I stand amazed in the presence
Of Jesus the Nazarene,
And wonder how He could love me,
A sinner condemned, unclean.

How Marvellous, how wonderful,
And my song shall ever be,
How Marvellous, how wonderful,
Is my Saviour’s love for me.

He took my sin and my sorrows,
He made them His very own,
He bore the burden to Calvary
And suffered and died alone.

When with the ransomed in glory,
His face I at last shall see,
T’will be my joy through the ages,
To sing of His love for me.

Everytime I hear or sing that song I picture Jesus at Calvary on the cross dying for MY SINS. Long before I knew him, he took ALL MY SIN AWAY. This is an awesome feeling which we should not forget even in our busy lives. He is an everlasting GOD. Let us bring all of our talents together as one and worship him not just for a few hours on a Sunday but every minute of every day. Non Christians do not know the true love of Christ, or even understand what it means to have God in our lives. Let us as a band welcome that with our arms stretched open and show them what they too can have.
We are Still running our own race, with many hurdles in the way, but we need to focus on that finishing line and believe, in ourselves through our prayers & daily lives, that one day we will cross that line and when we do we will have won the greatest medal of all, Eternal life! “For God so loved the world that he Gave his only Son, that whoever Believes in him shall not perish But have eternal life.” John 3:16
